About William Lacey Group
William Lacey Group has been trading for over 100 years and was founded by William Lacey.
He was a member of the Standard Method of Measurement Joint Committee, that included several leading Quantity Surveying practices, they prepared the first Standard Method of Measurement (SMM), published in 1922. This is the Centenary Year of that document, which since its inception has provided a benchmark for Quantity Surveyors and a uniform basis for measuring building works. The introduction of the SMM facilitated
industry wide consistency which encouraged the adoption of best practice and helped to avoid disputes.

Today, the company is led by Chris Lacey, great grandson of the founder, who has continued the same ethos and commitment as his great grandfather did when he started the company.

We are currently seeking to acquire land in Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Kent and West Sussex and have a highly experienced team who, along with our design and planning team, have achieved planning permission for over a thousand homes over the last century and have excellent contacts with stakeholders across the development spectrum. The William Lacey Group provides an integrated design, project coordination and construction management role for Housing Associations and Councils who need to optimise compliance within the requirements of the new technical standards for new homes.
In this fast moving field, the William Lacey Group is at the forefront of current construction expertise. We have considerable experience in micro generation, carbon offsetting, renewable energy technologies, thermal mass technology, and low emissivity high transmission glazing as well as an environmental awareness pedigree. All staff are inducted with our Environmental Policy which underpins our philosophy.

Swifts take up residence at Elmbridge
The William Lacey Group is delighted to welcome a family of swifts who have taken up residence in one of the nesting boxes that we provided in our new homes in Elmbridge Court, Woking.
The good news is that once they have found good accommodation, they typically return ever year.
